Precious Wilson is a #1 Amazon Best-Selling author, an award-winning International Singer, Song-writer, and one of the pioneers of the UK black music revolution of the 70s and 80s.

“As far back as I can remember I’ve always loved to sing and entertain”.

Precious was born in Jamaica. She comes from a family of professional singers, which include her grandmother, her mother, two grand-aunts, and two of her brothers.

Growing up as a young child Precious was exposed to many musical influences including Country Music, Ska, R&B, and Gospel Music. This combined with the home-grown music of Lovers Rock, Reggae, Calypso, Rock and Roll, and Classical Music.

“There was always music in the house. I can still remember my mother taking me to my very first concert in my home town Kingston Jamaica; we went to see an American Jazz singer called Nancy Wilson, I was about four or five years old.
I would say that my singing style started developing at a young age. It all came from the combined experience of attending Gospel churches, impersonating different artists such as Gladys Knight, Motown Artists, Rhythm and Blues singers such as Sam Cooke and Sam and Dave, and Mahalia Jackson”.

She cheerfully explains, “As a child I would perform small concerts in my living room for my mother and her friends. Even today, mother is still my biggest fan, she was very supportive, as a child back then, she’d get all the lamps in the house and shine them up to make one big spotlight. I would sing along with a hair brush in my hand and pretended it was a microphone. They’d all sit on the sofas and watch my show.
I consider myself very lucky, because I grew up in an era of great singers, all of which have contributed to my eclectic taste in music, which is still very much with me today”
.
At the age of seven her family to move to England. They travelled by cruise ship, and a few days into the journey they were invited to have dinner at the captains’ table, as word got around, that crowds of passengers were gathering to watch Precious dance, to Rolling Stones and Beatles Music.
“I always enjoyed being the centre of attention at school, I was always causing a distraction at school, because I was always singing and clowning around and telling jokes”, she laughs.
“I suppose that I was one of the Windrush children. Now for those of you who don’t know the history, the name ‘Windrush’ celebrates the arrival of Empire Windrush ship from Jamaican in 1948 with 498 passengers, which symbolises, for many the beginnings of a British multicultural society.
I am one of the many children at the time, whose parents who took up the invitation to come to England ‘the mother country’, where the streets we paved with gold and you could create a bright new prosperous future, for you and your family”
.
Precious’ mother was always looking for opportunities for her, so at the age of 14, she sent Precious to study in America. While there she joined the local church choir.

“It was then that I became aware of the power and the beauty of the human voice. That was my ‘light bulb moment’, as I realized that the human voice, exciting and captivating, has the power to cause conflict and hostility, but it also has the power to make a baby go to sleep, break down walls and bring about peace and harmony”.

On her return to London in 1974, she started singing with a band, and so the Disco group Eruption was formed. The original band members of Eruptions’ were Precious Wilson lead vocals, lead guitarist Greg Perrineau, bassist Morgan Perrineau, keyboards, Gerry Williams, and drummer Eric Kingsley. The other band members came from different parts of the Caribbean and Africa.
At last Precious finally got a real microphone in her hand, she knew that singing and performing was what she wanted to do.
”This was a great way to channel all my creative energy constructively.” She says. “Most people don’t like the way their voice sounds when it’s recorded. I was just so excited by the whole adventure that I wasn’t bothered what it sounded like, as singing was my way of expressing myself.”
Eruptions’ professional career started when they won the talent completion called ‘The RCA Soul Search’ in 1975; this brought them a record deal, and their first single called ‘Let Me Take You Back in Time’ was released in 1976.

Though this should have been great…In fact things were not working out, and so their manager at the time, organised some gigs in Germany, but things got worse before things got better.

Fortunately, in 1977, the group was introduced to Boney M producer Frank Farian, by talent scout Hans-Jorg Mayer.

“We were introduced to a group called Boney M. and we became their support act, and their backing band, for their very first ever European concert tours”.

In 1978 Eruption covered The Anne Peebles classic ‘I CAN''T STAND THE RAIN’, which was a gigantic international hit. This was soon to be followed by ‘ONE WAY TICKET’, which had similar success.

In 1979 Precious started a solo career, which included numerous recordings including her first solo single was ‘HOLD ON I’M COMING’, which appeared on the Boney M ‘OCEANS OF FANTASY’ Album.

As a solo artist her recordings are numerous and includes ‘RAISING MY FAMILY’ and ‘CRY TO ME’.

She signed a new contract with Jive Records (part of the then Zomba Group), in London, along with Whitney Houston and Samantha Fox, and Billy Ocean, to name just a few.

Her single entitled ‘I'LL BE YOUR FRIEND’ on Jive Records, underlined her appeal on the dance soul circuit. It reached the Top 40 in the American Billboard R&B Charts.

She followed this success with the title Sound Track to the Blockbuster movie starring MICHEAL DOUGLAS, KATHLEEN TURNER and DANNY De VITO, entitled: "THE JEWEL OF THE NILE", written by the team of Britten and Lyle who wrote Tina Turner's smash hit ‘What's Love Got TO Do’.

Precious has toured the former USSR with her own band, on the invitation of the Soviet Cultural Ministry. “I love songs that have an impact on your emotions, songs that have strong rhythms and beats, catchy melodies, energy, songs that touch, move or inspire”. All these elements have contributed to Precious’ sensual and exciting vocal style, which has become her trademark. Her voice is immediate as it is undeniable; its power is matched only by her charisma and warm personality.
Early in her career Precious discovered that more often than not, the most exciting and captivating voice is a combination of “luck”, and a desire to learn, perseverance, discipline, and a willingness to maintain the correct vocal health and technique.
“We make a living from what we get, but we make a life from what we give”.
“My passion is to share my joy by facilitating entertainment and to help vocalists and entrepreneurs, to express themselves, through song and stage presentation using their voice”
.
Precious is excited and delighted to able to help give others the opportunity to bring out the star quality in their voice.
She says, “I believe that the human voice is an important communication tool”.
“Your voice is your identity. The voice has the power to cause conflict and hostility. It also has the power to sing a baby to sleep, break down walls and bring about peace and harmony. The most exciting and mesmerizing voice is not always just down to natural raw talent alone. More often than not, it is the product of a burning desire, practice, perseverance, and correct vocal technique, emotional and physical health”
.
The creation of her company is the result of Precious’ desire to inspire others and share her knowledge and experience. It’s her opportunity to give back by sharing her passion.
Most of all she wants people to be creative, and have fun, as they discover their own unique vocal identity, so that they too can perform like a celebrity, mesmerise, and entertain their audience.
Precious continues to woe her audience, with her gorgeous soulful voice and her dynamic personal presence, all over the world.

Her love for singing, and entertaining has been the backbone to the longevity of her career in the entertainment industry.

“I’m so lucky to do what I do. Music is my hobby, my love, my freedom, music is my life.”
